Award for operational excellence
On October 10th 2017, BOURBON was rewarded for Operational Excellence during the 2017 Total Suppliers Day. This prize rewards the professional, safe and cost effective well clean-up carried out by Bourbon Subsea Services teams in Nigeria, on board the MPSV Bourbon Evolution 801.
The team consisting of Total, BOURBON and the company contractor successfully completed its first well clean-up in only two weeks. The well had been shut with muds and brine, and needed to be put back in production. Total therefore enlisted the services of the vessel Bourbon Evolution 801 instead of a jack up, which was specially fitted with hydrocarbon separation process capacity and return line for gas to platform.
BOURBON is proud to have actively contributed to offer solutions for the integration of oil reception and export aboard our vessels.
This operation is not only interesting because of its tangible results in terms of operational excellence and cost reduction. It is also a symbol of the ongoing change in culture in the Oil & Gas industry. TOTAL’s teams have innovated by performing this operation - historically carried out by the jack-ups - from a vessel. BOURBON is proud to have actively contributed to offer solutions for the integration of oil reception and export aboard our vessels. We have jointly been able to review our operating processes to do better, safely and at lower cost.
