In-house auditor manager

"A good auditor must demonstrate humility and assertiveness."
Audrey Cyrot joined the BOURBON in-house auditing team a year and a half ago. At the age of 35, and after five years of experience in an auditing consultancy, Audrey wanted to put her skills and expertise to use in a group with an international scope, at an ambitious company with a focus on performance. She travels to subsidiaries around the world on a regular basis, including to Brazil and the Ukraine, as well as Dubai, Angola and Nigeria.
Travelling comes naturally to her, as a soldier’s daughter, she got used to travelling and new experiences at a very young age. During her assignments, Audrey has to “provide reasonable assurances that the group’s policies are being applied, that the existing inspection measures are effective, and that operations are carried out in a manner consistent with decisions made by management”.
Curiosity and adaptive capacities
When she returns to her office in Marseille, her work continues: “Internal auditing ensures that BOURBON has adequate control of its operations, making it possible to provide advice on improving them, thus contributing to creating added value.”
For these assignments, it is necessary to be curious and to be able to adapt to the activities and specific culture of each affiliate, qualities that come quite naturally to Audrey: “in the field, a good auditor must demonstrate humility and assertiveness. A good auditor has to understand the processes and detect areas of risk, in addition to highlighting existing inspection measures. It is therefore important to be attentive to co-workers, to try to get a good understanding of their daily routine, in order to have all the information needed to improve processes.”
BOURBON made it possible for Audrey to achieve her professional goals. She has a very positive outlook on her experience with the group, at both the professional and personal levels: “At BOURBON, interpersonal relationships are simple and straightforward. This provides for serene and pleasant working conditions. Furthermore, the group is very ambitious, which is highly motivating.”
