BOURBON Renews Its Green Marine Europe Certification

At the 2026 Green Shipping Day, BOURBON renewed its Green Marine Europe certification, first obtained in 2023. This renewed certification recognizes the Group’s ongoing efforts to measure, reduce and continuously improve the environmental impact of its maritime activities.

Since 2023, the Green Marine Europe programme has provided BOURBON with a concrete framework to assess its environmental performance and identify new areas for improvement, particularly in terms of emissions reduction, marine ecosystem protection and responsible waste management.

When BOURBON first obtained the certification, the Group already highlighted that the initiative was “both a reflection of the significant progress achieved and, above all, a reminder of what remains to be accomplished.”

Three years later, this renewal confirms that this momentum continues.
Beyond certification, Green Marine Europe is also a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing among maritime industry stakeholders. The programme now brings together 47 organisations, including 29 certified shipowners, as well as shipyards and, more recently, ports, all sharing a common goal: to collectively improve the environmental performance of the maritime sector*.
