This week BOURBON will join countless actors around the world taking part in the ILO (International Labour Organisation) World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Obviously promoting safe and healthy conditions at work is a good practice but let’s take time to remind of the potential for injury, disease and death in the work place. For emphasis, here below a few figures that make sober reading:
317 million accidents
Occur globally at work every year with many resulting in serious injuries and extended time away from work.
Die everyday as a result of occupational accidents or work-related illness - more than 2.3 million deaths per year.
BOURBON teams over many years, have built a strong safety culture and sustainable results which will lead the group towards its 0-incident objective.Chris DixonVP OSM / HSE Director
This is why the group is engaged in such opportunities as the ILO Safety Day. It is also our role to ensure this focus is maintained at every level and without compromise. BOURBON’s last initiative, the ‘Life Saving Rules’ awareness campaign, is one example.
The main goal of this Safety Day is to increase the awareness regarding important health and safety issues, and to commit every single collaborator in adopting a responsible and proactive attitude to further keep on improving the BOURBON safety culture.
